Hand picking the ripest cherry coffee. It is almost impossible to duplicate the natural growing conditions that make Kona coffee so unique.
It is grown in rich volcanic soil on the leeward slopes of one of the largest active volcanoes in the world: Mauna Loa ("Long Mountain"). This huge tropical mountain provides beautiful sunny mornings that ripen and sweeten the coffee bean.
Dependable afternoon clouds provide shade cover and rainwater which help to nourish abnd slowly mature the beans. Along with these natural growing conditions, we take immmense pride in the development of our estate grown coffee.
From the nursery where we grow our small coffee plants for transplanting to the field, to the meticulous hand picking of only the ripest beans, and then finally to the precious roasting. Our concern for quality at every step along with Kona's unique growing conditions is what makes our coffee consistently great tasting. All of our estate coffee is grown and picked above the 1500 ft. elevation. These higher elevation coffees have proven to be award winning flavors.
